Our Story

Out of the Ashes is dramatic expression of the real life journey of father and son who struggled while building a relationship after 14 years of separation. In 1994 Coley Harris went to prison to serve a 16 year sentence and he left behind his 2 year old son Ahmarr Melton. Father and son had to navigate their respective worlds in hopes of reuniting one day and filling the void in their respective lives.

Coley struggled to find his identity as a responsible man in a world of steel and stone, as Ahmarr faced an unrelenting world without the guidance of his father. Out of the Ashes captures this intimate journey in a unique blend of dramatic and poetic harmony. This experience is unlike any that you will ever witness, for it is a continuation of a lifelong healing process that this father and son have embarked upon.
